Day Trips

If your group is looking for a fun, short excursion, a day trip is the perfect idea. Even New Yorkers book our theme tours to learn more about a specific area of the city!

Our day trips are perfect for groups on short trips to New York, or those with other time commitments such as meetings, conventions, and weddings. Day trip tours are also perfect for groups looking to supplement their own sightseeing plans with an insider’s tour or in-depth theme tour.

Fully customizable half- and full-day trips are available. Our expert tour guides give your group the inside track on everything New York. Popular itineraries include a Noshing Through NY, Brooklyn, The Bronx, and two Hudson River Valley tours: Famous American and Fabulous Food and Military Traditions.

Noshing Through New York

New York City is famous for its food from around the world. Norwegian smoked salmon (a NYC Favorite) and knishes from Eastern Europe are just a few of the city’s delicious eats. Throughout the tour, the group will taste a variety of ethnic treats. This program includes sightseeing in Lower Manhattan, Little Italy, Chinatown, Greenwich Village, and the Lower East Side. The tastings will be served on the coach and are enough for lunch. This four- to five-hour tour is fully guided.

Brooklyn:  The Real Crossroads of the World

Brooklyn: traditional and hip, city and suburb, historic and cutting edge, cultured and gritty. This borough in the county of Kings is full of contrasts. Brooklyn is a city unto itself (if it were to be a separate city, it would be one of the most populated in the USA and probably the most culturally

diverse). It is also home to the famous Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, the original Nathan’s Hot Dog and Ralph Kramden. Come discover what so many New Yorkers already know: Brooklyn is the real crossroads of the world. The tour is four to five hours in length and is fully guided.

 • Lunch at a popular Brooklyn Restaurant is available

Meet me in "da" Bronx

Known best for its illustrious reputation from the movie Ft. Apache: The Bronx and for the House that Ruth built (Yankee Stadium), the Bronx still surprises even native New Yorkers. It has beaches, a New

England fishing village, a world famous zoo, botanical garden and countless historic sites. Over the years, it has been home to Tony Curtis, Anne Bancroft, Edgar Allen Poe, Colin Powell and Ralph Lauren, as well as the many different immigrant groups that have shaped the borough. The tour is four to five hours in length and is fully guided.

• Italian lunch on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is available

Life Styles of the Well-Known and the Wealthy

New York City has always been home to the famous and the elite. On the Upper East Side, mansions and brownstones representing New York’s old money line the streets, while the lofts of TriBeCa are home to some of today’s biggest celebrities. Take a trip around Manhattan and discover where the rich and powerful of yesterday and the up-and-coming of today live, work and play. Your guide will also point out the filming locations of movies and television shows. The tour is four hours in length and is fully guided.

• Lunch available

The Historic Homes of Manhattan

When people think of New York City, they think of concrete skyscrapers and apartment towers. Before the New York of today, however, the city was full of country homes, farms and forests. Some of these treasures still dot the landscape of Manhattan. Explore the interiors of these homes with the curators who know them best, and see how people lived back in the day. Of the two homes visited, one dates back to 1765 and the other to 1826. Your guide will also point out other historic homes and landmarks en route. The tour is five hours in length. It includes entrance and tours of two historic homes, and will require walking and climbing some stairs.

Famous American and Fabulous Food

Many great New Yorkers have made their homes along the Hudson River. The Rockefellers, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Samuel F. B. Morse and Washington Irving are just a few. Let your guide share with you the landscape and its treasures. In addition, there will be a guided tour of the home of FDR, entrance into the FDR Memorial Library and an exterior tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion. The special treat is lunch and a tour of the Culinary Institute of America. The program is led by a professional Hudson Valley tour guide, is five to six hours in length and will require walking and climbing some stairs.

Miliatary Traditions

Some of America’s great military leaders—Eisenhower, Macarthur, Bradley, Clark, Patton, and Wainwright—were schooled at West Point Military Academy. Your guide will take you on a highlights tour of the grounds. Together, you will experience the daily life of the cadets. Just to the north is the new Purple Heart Hall of Honor. It is the nation's sole repository dedicated to the preservation of the stories of sacrifice of the more than 1.7 million Americans wounded or killed in action while serving in the United States Military. Explore the exhibits with your docent guide. The day concludes with time on your own in the river town of Cold Spring. The program is led by a professional Hudson Valley tour guide, is five to six hours in length and will require walking.

• Lunch at the West Point Club is available
